Gen Z’s Favorite Y2K Basics

According to WWD, a new report from Google shows us that “Y2K fashion” and “pink aesthetic” are among the top trending searches for Gen Z. Nostalgia fashion continues to reign supreme over the budding generation as bright colors, bucket hats, and baggy jeans are just some of the favored pieces. If you’re not sure what your Y2K flavor is just yet, we’ve got some remarkable style choices for the perfect throwback moment.

Classic Mom Jeans Outfit

It’s not Y2K without at least one or a dozen pairs of high-waisted mom jeans! Pair with a crop top, bucket hat, and shoulder bag, and you’re good to go. This outfit is a simple Y2K staple that you likely already have in your wardrobe.

Mini Skirt Magic

Pleated, denim and funky mini skirts are another Y2K favorite often worn by Gen Z. Open cardigans like this one pair nicely with pastel bucket hats and standout jewelry. Our lifestyle collection is full of glamorous gold and silver selections.

Preppy Formal Chic

Matching co-ords like this one are another style we’ve loved seeing. This cropped blazer skirt set is perfect for formal occasions. Pair with a plain faux leather shoulder bag, bucket hat, and sunglasses if you want a more relaxed and playful outfit.

Soft Plaid

Plaid mini skirts and plush cardigans are sweet and chic. A gold necklace and a bucket hat with a sweet graphic are wonderful ways to play up this style. Head back to school with the best Clueless-inspired chic around at J.ING!

Y2K Mix and Match

Our final look contains several pieces you can mix and match, plus a coordinating beret and shoulder bag. Once you have the Y2K basics down, you can coordinate any of these items with each other! The whole point of this trend is to use all of your vibrant creativity to its fullest!
